Monday, February 14, 2005 Hello,
Couple of (hopefully simple) setup questions for installing Active4D (version 3.0) using the 4D Client (version 2003) as the webserver. 1) On the 4D Client, how do you access the Preferences pane (in order to set "web_decoy" as the web root, etc.)? This only seems to be available from the Design environment, and we're running compiled (not possible to install a non-compiled version on this server). If I set it in the structure, compile, then install on the 4D Server, does it just carry over to the 4D Client workstation? 2) Where does the key file go on a 4D Client webserver? The docs mention the following: > Active4D will look for a key file in two places, in the following order: > > o The same directory as the Active4D plugin > > o The System:Preferences folder on MacOS 9, the <User>/Library/Preferences > folder on Mac OS X, the Windows directory on Windows 95/98/XP, the WINNT > directory on Windows NT/2000. but I'm not completely clear if this also applies when using the 4D Client as the web server (that is, if I install it in the Mac4DX/Win4DX folder on the server, it gets copied over to the Client machine and works correctly)? Or do I need to install it exclusively in the preferences folder on the 4D Client computer? Thanks!
