Hi,

This is mainly addressed to users of foreign-language versions of 4D.

When I first designed Active4D, I thought it would be a good idea to use the native language for 4D commands that Active4D supports. This allows the developer to work more naturally.

I should note that 4D is the only programming language on earth (AFAIK) that does not have a fixed lexicon. Only a Frenchman would insist on writing

  si ($foo)
     ...
  fin de si

instead of if/end if, like every other programming language on earth (including the one he used to write 4D).

;-)

Anyway, there is one big problem with this approach. Since Active4D source files are text, not tokens, they cannot automatically translate the way 4D methods do. So all of my demo code and standard libraries have to be translated for every foreign language version of 4D.

My question to the foreign language users is this: would you rather have a fixed (English) lexicon in Active4D, or would you rather translate the libraries and demos yourself?
