I am also having a hard time pulling myself from BBEdit. They don't
write documentation like you do:-) (that's a complement in case you
missed it) Took a while to understand the terminology to get two
windows open.
Also, I get an error of jEdit startup

Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.2_05-141.4)
Tried the older version of jEdit and got the same thing. It seems to
work, but just hard to get used to. Looking for one of my favorites in
BBEdit, "find differences" and have not found it. Can't figure out how
to change tab setting to 4 characters instead of 8 and other little
minor things. I'm sure some of the things are there, but for a person
still using a one button mouse, change is hard. Setting are not where
the are supposed to be - Preferences. Probably have to go find a
.config file somewhere.
