Don't install 4.3, it isn't ready for prime time.

Tried the older version of jEdit and got the same thing.
Very strange, everything is contained within the application. Go to
community.jedit.org and check on the forums, see if anyone else has
had that experience.
Looking for one of my favorites in BBEdit, "find differences" and
have not found it.
There is a jdiff plugin, but it isn't as good as BBEdit's. However,
finding differences is (IMHO) useless unless you are using a source
code management system. You ARE using a source code management
system, aren't you? Since we are editing text files, there is no
excuse not to.
Everyone please listen: run, don't walk, to subversion.tigris.org and
get the latest subversion client, then download these if you are

If you aren't yet using source code management, please *invest* the
time to start. It will pay off many times over. Especially if you are
working on a large site with several programmers, it is madness to do
without source code management.
Can't figure out how to change tab setting to 4 characters instead
of 8
Come on, folks, jEdit has built in help with searching. I brought
help up, clicked "Search", typed "tab", and had the answer in 15
seconds.
I'm sure some of the things are there, but for a person still using
a one button mouse, change is hard.
It's time to get a two-button mouse. Even Apple sells one now. You
are seriously handicapping your efficiency without one.
Setting are not where the are supposed to be - Preferences.
That's because your installation got messed up and the Mac OS X
plugin didn't load. That plugin puts the standard Preferences menu
item in.
