If my memory serves me right, you have to set the permissions for the
uploaded files to '-rwxr-xr-x' (chmod 755) to be able to serve them.

Thanks for that advice.
I may have come up with a simpler solution to this problem that appears
to work. I created a symbolic link "docs" within the WebSTAR web root
that points to the uploads folder within my Active4D web root.
Therefore if a document is uploaded to /web/uploads/2006/08/test.doc,
WebSTAR will serve http://www.mysite.com/docs/2006/08/test.doc.
This seems like the simplest solution. Can others comment about any
caveats - security or otherwise - to this approach?
