[ActiveDir] Exchange and Active Directory

I am looking at an implementation of Windows 2000 Active Directory and I
have a concern about deploying it with Exchange 5.5. Is it recommended to
rollout AD and Exchange 2000 at the same time? If anyone has any information
regarding AD and Exchange it will be greatly appreciated.
