Newbie Alert. I finally got the go ahead on getting AD in our environment. What do you think? good start? ------ Well those are two fine bits of kit for sure but when you say newbie what do you mean? And when you say "starting out" what do you mean? Have you assessed what you have already to decide how to collapse it into one domain - I'm assuming you are thinking just one domain because you don't want any less than two domain controllers in a domain. Have you identified any "blocking issues" with the migration? Are there any things about your network that with hindsight should have been done differently? And are you allowing your chance to exercise the benefit of that hindsight during the AD migration? I don't even think about what actual bits of metal I'm going to use to run the AD on - at least not in that sort of detail where I've got something picked out of the catalogue - until I know what my AD looks like.
