Subject: RE: [ActiveDir] /3GB switch
This basically allocates 3GB to User mode apps and 1GB to Kernel. By
default this would be 2GB / 2GB. So without the switch the Store.exe
will
run out of RAM sooner even if there is additional memory available,
since it
is not allocated to user mode apps. If Store.exe runs out of
addressable
space, you would have to restart the service. So without it...you
would not
be getting the additional RAM for Exchange.

Subject: [ActiveDir] /3GB switch
We have several multi-processor win2k member servers with 4GB of
memory.
(mail servers) Because they are standard server, I know that I
shouldn't
use the /3GB switch in the boot.ini. Can anyone explain to me why I
should
upgrade to advanced server? Am I not getting the full value of the
4GBs of
memory installed? Thanks in advance for the education!
