I would say, to go with XP as you gain in stability and security. Also if
you implement Windows Server 2003, you have quite more GPO settings that you
can control on XP boxes. Not to mention, that Terminal services in XP (RDP
5.1) and Windows Server 2003 (RDP 5.2) are much better. Overall XP and 2003
works very well together.
