from my "Help and Support Center" on a Win2K3 server, I get the following
when I searched for "Net Time":

Net time

Synchronizes the computer's clock with that of another computer or domain.
Used without parameters, net time displays the time for another computer or
domain

......

Remarks

* W32tm.exe is a similar command that is used to synchronize the local
computer's time with a remote computer or a domain. Because of its
flexibility, W32tm.exe is the preferred method for time synchronization. For
more information on W32tm.exe, see Related Topics.

Subject: [ActiveDir] Time Sync in AD

I know this is a silly question but I am a little confused about the time
server (NTP) configuration in AD. I found the following commands to
configure a time server in AD:

Net Time /Setsntp:<servername>
W32tm /Config /manualpeerlist

What is the difference between the W32tm and Net Time command? Can I use
either of these commands to configure a time source in AD and sync with an
external time server? Do I need to manually sync the time on all the DCs
with the PDC emulator's time or will the DC automatically contact the PDC
emulator for the time sync?

Thanks in advance!
