I found another explanation! “The Net Time tool allows you to
configure the W32Time service. The W32tm tool is used primarily for diagnostic
purposes and does not allow you to make any configuration changes.” From: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Behalf Of Rich Milburn http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/winxppro/proddocs/time_w32tm.asp watch the word wrap your DCs will sync to the PDCe by default, unless you changed them
manually. There is a parameter for W32tm to change back to the domain
hierarchy sync (domhier)… I got the same impression as Deji that net time
is the simple command, W32tm is for when you really mean it. Rich -----Original Message----- from my "Help and when I searched for "Net Time": Net time Synchronizes the computer's clock with that of another computer or
domain. Used without parameters, net time displays the time for another
computer or domain ...... Remarks * W32tm.exe is a similar command that is used
to synchronize the local computer's time with a remote computer or a domain. Because of its flexibility, W32tm.exe is the preferred method for time
synchronization. For more information on W32tm.exe, see Related Topics. time server (NTP) configuration in AD. I found the following commands
to configure a time server in AD: Net Time /Setsntp:<servername> W32tm /Config /manualpeerlist What is the difference between the W32tm and Net Time command? Can I
use either of these commands to configure a time source in AD and sync with
an external time server? Do I need to manually sync the time on all
the DCs with the PDC emulator's time or will the DC automatically contact the
PDC emulator for the time sync? Thanks in advance! List info : http://www.activedir.org/mail_list.htm List FAQ : http://www.activedir.org/list_faq.htm List archive:
