If you have bought any 2K licenses since K3 was released, you should have the right to use K3 with those licenses. However I purposely try not to be a license-understanding type of person.
Anyway, you should have no issues using an MSDN copy of K3 to do the forestprep that you wouldn't hit with a full purchased copy.
