*supposed* to be every minute by default.  Can you check application event log for errors?  Do you see anything in there?

How long before the RUS service kicks in? I made the change yesterday and it's the same issue today?

No, she wants that alias to be her permanent address.

Cheers Al

You're waiting for the refresh most likely.  Just because you changed it, doesn't mean it takes effect immediately.  However, whatever the primary address is, that's what should be sent as the from address field. If it's not in your case, you may have to wait for a process to update, such as the RUS process.

If you want to have a user send as somebody else on a regular basis (they flip back and forth between addresses for some reason) then you need an alternate method.  Is this the case?

Al

I know it's possible on pop3/smtp but they are using straight exchange :O(

Hmmmm....  I have several SMTP addresses and my primary is set as [EMAIL PROTECTED] (I'm getting rejected from the Active Directory list because I haven't changed my name on their list from [EMAIL PROTECTED]).  Unless they are using POP3/SMTP, where there is a field for the reply to address in the setup of Outlook, it is supposed to work.

That doesn't seem to be the case here. Take the below :-

If you look at the above you will see [EMAIL PROTECTED] ..... this should read [EMAIL PROTECTED] . The uname address is set as the primary on Exchange.

You can have several SMTP addresses (Email addresses) in Exchange for each user, but by setting the Primary one, that becomes the default reply-to address.

Hi All,

I know this is off topic but I have no real Exchange knowledge.... This is probably a stupid question but I have spent some time on google and couldn't see a resolution.

I've got a customer running SBS2003 and Outlook2003. She wishes to change her 'from' address in outlook to a different alias... how do I do this? I created the alias and set it to her default and I can send mail to the alias.

Thanks.

Rob
