No, the KCC and ISTG have not been disabled. Some EA in my forest created many manual connection objects between sites AND within a site.
I apologize for leaving the previous thread, but I felt that thread was dead until I could get some more info and I thought I'd create a new one just to see if I can get the question of wheter its a bad idea to create manual connection objects(either between sites or within a site) answered.
