You mean obfuscation. Yeah well that works more to deter than outright prevention. Wait for Perl 6. It will compile everything to bytecode a-la Java. We will share their problems!

I think I understand why the guys from ActiveState don't answer these
questions.
I think they have not woken up yet. Anyway the question has been asked so many times you can actually Goggle the answer.

You're dead right on the Zero part. That's where the lawyers come in I guess.

However, I would be very happy if I could at least rename the .dll files
which are created.... but thinking better, a good cracker could find what
programming language is used...

We can't hope to beat the Russians and the Chinese at their game. So far it seems that only the Steam engine (Half-Life) can not been cracked. The best way seems to be a lateral approach to the problem...
