map the network share to a local drive and try it again.
net use f: \\server\share
(F: is drive you want it mapped to) can be replaced with * which means next
available drive.

Subject: ot: online odbc connection for word & website

hello!

got a web site with a database. info is being built entered on a daily
basis and once a week i've been downloading it and doing a mail merge of
the data into word.

at the moment, i've been using a system dsn, setting it up via the odbc
control panel. what i'd like to be able to do is set up the dsn to
reference the online database on our web server.

i've added the database's folder in 'my networking places' but when i
navigate to the folder in the select database window the folder wont
open? surely this kind of thing is possible?

is it a case of i have to write a custom script and put in in the 'my
data sources' folder? i cant believe it aint possible....

any suggestions would be grand!

cheers,

jake
