I agree with Ben and I think I am the second intruder today so excuse me,
but isn't it ASP oreineted and problem solving? Unlimited shareware -
some nags but no limit. You know I am answering questions on the
list and I am working on components and ASP related products.
How to avoid advertising hide behind a fake name to tell the people my
way to solve a problem? Well I am selling my work but everyone
here does this too. The mere existence of the list is MS advertisement
if we will think that way. I can't forget that I am a COM programmer and
the fact that I developed an independent ASP engine while contributing
to the list - the knowledge comes with its side products :) And if you
want see the list archives - I mentioned my competitors as well - the
people will choose what to use but they need to know there are much more
areas for their ASP experience - not only IIS. This makes the list more
important and useful. So where is the border? I don't know and probably
noone knows. But I think this list is one of the best (in any area) on the
net because even the "advertisements" come from real people who are active
on the list - and not from people employeed to create spam.

Bear, I assume you refer to my message in your statement. If I wrote
software that solves a problem, I will let you know if it think it
can help you. Just as I would refer to you an MS tool if I thought IT
would help you.

Why would messages of this sort not be condoned!? If I don't have
software to help I provide info when I can, it is not like I am
spamming the list with irrelevant advertisements for my software or
only answering questions which my software can solve. IMO YCSMA.

List members who post substantive, useful messages with a
signature/footer/link promoting their product raise no objections.
Members who respond to queries with "Come look at my product to solve
your problem" as two people did today are just spammers, IMO.

Does the ActiveServerPages list condone messages like these?
