Greetings from UTMB Health in Galveston. I use the voting buttons in Outlook mail for final approval from the last layer of our review process. We will be moving to an on line review and work flow process by the end of the year that will probably replace the need for using email, but it may be hybrid. Won't know until we test it. The on line system is home grown using xythos which is a document management system that has flexibility to do more. The proposed plan is that upon final approval I'll receive the notification from each of the 10 reviewers and launch the final phase of the process which will simultaneously archive the policy and tag it for the next triennial review as well as publish the policy to the web.

Hello all - I'm curious about whether any of you use an electronic (paperless) approval process, and what kinds of technologies you use? I'm working on updating the framework for policy development and approvals here at our University, and one of my goals is to go as paperless as possible. Thanks!
