I am wondering in light of technical security and compliance challenges
regarding data in information technology systems how is that divide working out
of all of you? I think it is an issue for Cornell when it comes to the
protection and preservation of research data, intellectual property and
institutional information. Your thought are very much requested and
appreciated.

Hi Alyssa,

At Old Dominion University, we keep our faculty policies separate from
administrative policies. The faculty policies reside in the Faculty Handbook.
Currently, only university policies adhere to the template that was established
by the policy review committee, and likewise, follow the formal review process.

Happy Friday to all!

Subject: [acupa-l] Listing academic policies on university policy websites

Hello all,

I’m looking for best practice, either for or against, hosting academic policies
on a University policy website. At our institution, we differentiate academic
policies as those owned by Faculty Council and mostly related to the University
Handbook; from operational policies about employee standards, paying the bills,
etc. Right now they are both housed on the University policy website, but I
find it difficult to stay abreast of the changes Faculty Council makes to them
as operational policies go through a different process and use a template.

Does anyone else house them together, or do you keep them separate?
