Hi Alyssa, We do host not only our University of Washington's Administrative Policy Statements, but the Faculty Code and Governance, the Board of Regents Governance, the Presidential Orders, the Student Governance and Policies, and our agency rules as part of the Washington Administrative Code as separate "resources" on a single UW Policy Directory<http://www.washington.edu/admin/rules/policies/index.shtml> (as well as links to various other UW policy materials off-site). Additionally our search feature can search all these materials or a single resource as desired. All have similar formats but follow very distinct paths through the creation/revision process to publication.
Our office rides herd on the lot, and can be deeply involved in some creation/revision processes and not much in others. But, behind the scenes, they are all managed with similar retentions and archiving status. At our institution, we differentiate academic policies as those owned by Faculty Council and mostly related to the University Handbook; from operational policies about employee standards, paying the bills, etc. Right now they are both housed on the University policy website, but I find it difficult to stay abreast of the changes Faculty Council makes to them as operational policies go through a different process and use a template. Does anyone else house them together, or do you keep them separate? -Alyssa Schiffman DePaul University ATTN: Please be aware that when you respond to an ACUPA-L e-mail, the reply will be distributed to the ENTIRE e-listing of members.
