The University of North Dakota just hired its first ombuds in August. The new
office and program has a primary goal of helping to create a better, more
positive work and learning environment for all of UND's faculty, staff, and
students. The UND Ombuds is a neutral resource for members of the entire
University community and provides timely and informal assistance to members of
the UND community by listening to concerns with the aim of proposing various
options for positive resolution, providing information, and making referrals.
The position reports to the president. At this point in time, there is no
policy governing the position or office.

All the best,

Subject: [acupa-l] Ombudsman Policy

Hello Everyone:

Does your institution have an Ombudsman's Office and if so, what is the scope
of the office and the reporting structure? Does the office have a policy that
governs it?

Thanks for your assistance. Happy Thanksgiving.
