All great ideas and comments! At CSU I also am involved in both content and
process, so I would echo what others have said about having our program deal
with both.

It's the available technology solutions that are of most interest to me right
now. Are you using any workflow? How are you tracking expiry/review dates and
what do you do when they come up? Do you maintain your own online policy
library or does an external entity (vendor or university IT dept) do that for
you? Have you considered hosted (vendor provided) solutions?

I would also really like to hear more about the interactions between your
policy operations and your counsel's office. To what extent do you go looking
for areas in which you need more/better policies, vs. waiting for someone to
come to you? Are you interested in a presentation about bridging the gap
between counsel and the policy administrator?

Thanks!

UNT is the same. I share your interest in these questions.

At KU, enforcement and compliance is largely left to the units who own the
policies. We have a coordinated policy program with decentralized policy
management. Because of this structure and because we have a well-populated
policy library, I would like to explore functional topics: how do we develop
and implement a policy review process that promotes the role of the policy
owner; how to bring in the last 10% of units into the policy library; how to
improve (or use technology to improve) the policy development process; what
policy library tools to assist visitors in finding what they are seeking; how
to use analytics to improve policy library functionality.

Those are the things that are on my mind these days.

Thanks,

Amy

Christine,

Right now, I am particularly interested in ethics topics; Title IX and Clery
Act compliance; federal grant compliance/requirements; accreditation
requirements; employment policies. Although many policy offices seem to be
focused on process, ours is also very involved with product. I know we're not
alone in this, especially in the review stages, so research techniques would be
of interest as well. Of course, since these areas are what I'm interested in,
I might decide to submit a proposal ... Because that's how I learn.

Thanks for asking,

Martha Talman

Dear Colleagues,

The 2014 ACUPA Conference Planning Committee is springing into action to
prepare for our partnership with EACUBO's Annual
Meeting<http://www.eacubo.org/programs-and-events/annual-meeting.html> October
19 - 22 in Orlando. The Presentation Subcommittee will issue a formal Call for
Proposals next week, but before we do that, we would like to ask each of you
what topics, specific or general, you really want to hear about. Your responses
will help the Planning Committee select the best presentations possible for our
conference

Please reply to post your wish list in this forum. What policy topics,
processes, or emerging issues do you wish we could discuss (and maybe solve
once and for all)?

If you would prefer for your suggestions to go directly to me rather than the
entire listserv, just respond to
[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]%3cmailto:[email protected]>>
and your ideas will still be counted.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Christine Tata, on behalf of the 2014 ACUPA Conference Planning
Committee/Presentation Subcommittee
