Hi Heather,

At UT Austin, we do not have any policy addressing bystander intervention. I
confirmed with our Title IX coordinator there are no plans to develop a policy
on this subject.

Like the other ACUPA members who have responded, our university also has a BI
program established and offers education and training on the subject. The
program details may be found at: http://www.wellnessnetwork.utexas.edu/BeVocal/

Subject: [acupa-l] Bystander intervention - policy or not

Good morning,

I hope this message finds everyone well and enjoying the beginning of Fall.

I had a discussion this morning with a colleague from Equal Opportunity
Services. They are trying to determine if a policy on bystander intervention
(which is a student initiative here) is feasible. My initial stance is that I
don't immediately see this as a stand-alone policy topic, but rather something
that can be addressed in a Code of Ethics policy.

Anyone tackled this one yet?

Best,
Heather
