Dear Jen,

My responses are below in red.

· Job Title University Policy and Administrative Planning Director

· Job Description
http://jobdescriptions.unm.edu/detail.php?id=6652&posn=Univ+Policy+%26+Admin+Plng+Dir

· Number of Years in Position Four years in the position, preceded by
almost 20 years in the University's legal office

· Salary Range $66,043.92 to $158,662.40

· Percentage of Time Spent on Policy ~95%. My assistant and I draft and
revise policies, and keep our website updated. When revisions or
implementation considerations are complicated, we usually convene a committee
of stakeholders and work on the revisions with the committee, with my office
taking the lead. It is atypical for other offices to provide us with policy
drafts, although it happens on occasion, such as when Financial Services
recently revised nine policies to reflect a new travel and expense
reimbursement software.

· Percentage of Time Spent on Other Duties (please specify) Other
duties, some of which are broadly related to policies, include serving on
committees such as the Loss Control and Prevention Committee, Insurance
Committee, Institutional Compliance Committee, Title IX Committee, and Clery
Compliance Committee. I regularly attend Executive Cabinet and Board of
Regents' meetings. Sometimes I'm asked to serve on search committees.

· Additional Information You See Pertinent The University of New Mexico
Policy Office consists of a .5FTE Policy Specialist and me (and two on-call
consultants described below). The office is responsible for overseeing the
Regents' policies and the administrative policies. (Other offices have
responsibility for the faculty policies and the student policies.) We maintain
the official versions of the Regents' Policy Manual and the University
Administrative Policy and Procedures on our website. I have monthly standing
meetings with the VP for Human Resources, the Chief of Staff for the University
President, the Executive Vice President for Administration (my supervisor), and
Staff Council leadership, and meet less regularly with faculty governance
leaders and the Faculty Senate Policy Committee. We have an on-call consultant
(a former attorney in the legal office) who assists us with legal research and
drafting some policies. We also have an on-call librarian consultant who is
assisting with the creation of a digital archive of historical versions of
administrative policies.

I hope this information is helpful. Feel free to follow up with me if you have
any questions.

Pamina
