Hi Todd,

Maternity leave is included in our Authorized
Leave<http://www.utsa.edu/hop/chapter4/4-20.html> policy. This is a massive
policy that addresses every type of leave imaginable. Below are the sections
related to maternity leave - FMLA, Parental Leave for Certain Employees, and
Foster Parent Leave.

Good morning,

At the University of New Mexico, we have a platinum policy on Parental
Leave<http://handbook.unm.edu/policies/section-c/leave-absence/c215.html> for
faculty, which provides for one semester of paid leave. For staff, a provision
in the Sick Leave<https://policy.unm.edu/university-policies/3000/3410.html>
policy authorizes the use of sick leave for "caring for and bonding with a
child," as follows:

3.2 Parental Leave

Time off for caring for and bonding with a child who has joined the household
(by birth or adoption) within the past twelve (12) months may be charged to
sick leave. Employees may also take annual leave or unpaid FMLA to arrange
additional relief - refer to UAP 3400 ("Annual
Leave")<https://policy.unm.edu/university-policies/3000/3400.html> and UAP 3440
("Family and Medical
Leave")<https://policy.unm.edu/university-policies/3000/3440.html>.
Best,
Pamina

All,

Good morning.

Would anyone be willing to share their policies regarding Maternity Leave? If
so, I'd love to hear what you might have.

Thanks,
Todd
