From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Pamina Deutsch Sent: Wednesday, January 25, 2017 6:05 PM To: Institutional policy-related discussions ([email protected]) <[email protected]> Subject: [acupa-l] Catastrophic Leave Policies Hi, We are revising our catastrophic leave policy<https://policy.unm.edu/university-policies/3000/3430.html>. Under the current policy, catastrophic leave is not granted for periods of less than three consecutive days, due to the difficulty of tracking such leave and the burden to the Payroll Department. However, we can see the benefit of providing such leave for employees who, for example, need to take off a few days for receiving and recovering from chemo therapy treatments. We would be interested in knowing if other colleges and universities have catastrophic leave policies that allow for intermittent leave or leave for periods of less than three days.
