Hello Pamina,

Here are the links to our catastrophic leave policy and procedures:

http://content.nwacc.edu/administrativeservices/PolicyforAS/HR/CatastrophicLeaveProceduresApril2015.pdf

As you will see, this is available for a minimum time period of 30 continuous
and the employee must have used all accumulated leave time.

Hope this helps!

Subject: [acupa-l] Catastrophic Leave Policies

Hi,

We are revising our catastrophic leave
policy<https://policy.unm.edu/university-policies/3000/3430.html>. Under the
current policy, catastrophic leave is not granted for periods of less than
three consecutive days, due to the difficulty of tracking such leave and the
burden to the Payroll Department. However, we can see the benefit of providing
such leave for employees who, for example, need to take off a few days for
receiving and recovering from chemo therapy treatments.

We would be interested in knowing if other colleges and universities have
catastrophic leave policies that allow for intermittent leave or leave for
periods of less than three days.

Thanks,
Pamina
