Hi Deena, The University of Washington's policy is still being developed. It will eventually become an executive order of the president with a couple of pointers to the order in our Washington Administrative Code where our rules for accessing our facilities are discussed. The management of the policy will be handled internally (for faculty, students, and staff) by third-party software currently being developed for this function; external users (commercial and hobby) will be handled by the University Advancement division that handles photography and filming on campus grounds. Development of the policy has been in the works for many months and includes faculty, students and staff on the working committee staffed by the UW's compliance unit.
All the best, Rebecca REBECCA GOODWIN DEARDORFF Director of Rules Coordination Rules Coordination Office 448 Gerberding Hall Box 351210 Seattle WA 98195-1210 206.543.9219 [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> / washington.edu/rules [logo] From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of McCord, Deena Sent: Monday, January 30, 2017 10:35 AM To: Association of College and University Policy Administrators <[email protected]> Subject: [acupa-l] Drone questions Good afternoon, Curious if you have a Drone policy, which division is it under (Finance and Administration, Research, etc) and if you have a part time or full time employee assigned to management/coordination of monitoring drones on campus. Also, do you have a committee that approves use of drones? If so, what is the composition of committee? Thank you!
