Our "policy on policies

addresses this issue. Section 6.d. provides that if the responsible office
(in consultation with the applicable president’s cabinet member) determines
that a policy is obsolete, the policy may be retired as provided below.

   - Retirement of an administrative policy requires approval by the
   president’s cabinet.
   - Retirement of a board policy requires approval by the president’s
   cabinet and board. The board reserves the right to delegate this to the
   president’s cabinet.
