So-called raid 0 (zero) is the one that is relevant to video editing - it doesn't provide security but instead speeds up disk access, nearly doubling the speed for every time you double the amount of disks. This is essential for uncompressed and higher definition editing - can also be very good for high-end DV editing, motion graphics etc. XP proffessional has raid capability built-in, XP home doesn't.
