Dear Rick- some of the effects in PPro need rendering. If you don't want to render
your whole project then adjust the workarea and render only the workarea. Hope this
helps?

Hi,

I'm not sure my first post went through, so this message might come
twice.

I am trying to use the gradient wipe effect in Premiere Pro. After
dragging the effect to the timeline, I selected a file as per my
options, and softened the wipe. But once I scrub the timeline, all
I see is the file. There is no "wipe" effect.

Using the A and B boxes in the Effects Control window, I can see
what the effect should look like, but that's as far as I can get.

Any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong? Thanks for the input!

RR
