Subject: [OT] NTSC, PAL & Computer Video

I am producing DVD's about model trains (we're in the US) and some of my
customers are in Europe.
A customer from England and South Africa didn't question the format?
Does NTSC become a NON ISSUE if it's played from a computer?

Am I over thinking this?

Richard,
I don't know about playing from a computer but the majority of DVD players
sold in the UK (and probably the rest of Europe) will play NTSC discs
without problem. In some cases the user will need to check that option
switches on the rear panel of the player are set in a particular
configuration (having referred to the instruction manual) but in many cases
it is not a problem because many modern PAL TVs will accept NTSC when input
through the SCART socket.

Some people imagine that their DVD player will not handle American discs
because they have heard of the Regionalisation problem. This is presumably
not a problem in your case because your discs will not be Regionalised for
Region 1?

I'd be really interested to know how many USA/Canada DVD players will handle
unregionalised PAL discs. Any comments anyone?
