First, I am not sure why you are experiencing this problem, but I do
have some....

Suggestions:

Upgrade to Premiere Pro 1.5 (Great Upgrade - worth the cost)

Be sure you have selected the correct Camera (XL1s) in the Premiere
Configuration.

Borrow someone else's DV cam, use your tape and see if you have the same
problem

I am confident your problem is in one of three areas:

1. Upgrade to Pro 1.5

2. Wrong Device Driver selected in Premiere Config
(Verify XL1s is selected)

3. Problem with XL1s or timecode configuration in XL1s

The problem is not likely to be the tape - unless your camera is setup
wrong and is not
recording the TimeCode correctly.

Also check your XL1s manual and verify the XL1s is actually recording
the time code in the proper format.
Some cameras have options as to how timecode is recorded to tape.

I'm making guesses, but I hope this leads you to your solution.

Subject: [AP] Help with batch capturing

Hey everyone,
I am using PPro 1.0 and a Canon XL1s. I love the combination of the
two but I have one problem. I cannot seem to find a way to batch
capture with my cam. I always get a "cannot find timecode" error, or
it simply just doesn't capture. I know this sounds like a question I
should have asked like a year ago, but it hasn't been much of a
problem until now. I am creating a video for someone departing a
church for a new ministry, and I am interviewing upwards of 15-20
people, so I would love to batch capture just the areas I need.
Anyone else have this problem or able to shed some light on this
problem for me? Thanks.

Tom
