This means you don't have enough (or any) "head" materail of the clip on the
right. Head material is source material before the clip's In point.

  Subject: [AP] Transition Problems

I'm using Premiere 1.5 and lately I am unable to put a transition
between two clips. When I drag a clip to the timeline it automatically
jumps to the beginning of the clip on the right. I can use the Effect
Controls to put the transition between the clips, but the transition is
then "x-ed" out (actually, it's diagonal bars) on the clip to the
left. I can only put the transition in the beginning or end of the
  right clip.

I'm sure this is a simple problem but I've not run into it before. Any
  help is appreciated.
