Is the audio encoded as wav or ac3 or mpg layer audio? Your client might
have one of the old dvd player that might not suitable for mpg layer 1
audio (this is mostly for PAL systems) that audio won't play.

Now, if the audio was encoded as ac3 or dolby, and they are playing the
video via their computer, they have to have ac3 encoder or it won't
work, they won't hear the audio.

Subject: [AP] OT: Bit Rate question

I have a few clients that can see the video, but can't hear the audio
from the DVDs I send them. I've checked the discs before mailing them &
they play fine for me. I've burned the discs on different burners, and
it hasn't made a difference. Is there a possibility I've used too high
a bit rate & it's causing a problem, and "choking" their machines?
Could this cause the audio to not to function while they can still see
the video? They have been able to play the DVDs in their computers. I
was viewing one of my demos at the clients & it would stutter and freeze
up every once in awhile too. I'm despritely trying to find the cause of
this. Could it be a bit rate problem? Any thoughts/suggestions?

  Thanks!
