Thanks Johnny... the audio is encoded as PCM.  I'm just using the 
Main Concept Adobe encoder that came w/6.5.  Will double check but I 
believe the client has been able to play some older DVDs I sent to 
him before I started increasing the bit rate, so I'm starting to 
narrow it down to that.  I made a test DVD I'm sending out today 
w/the same short clip encoded at 8000k, 6000k & 4000k so I'll see if 
any of those will play.  I need to re install Pro Coder Express on my 
machine & start using that again.  Is there a better audio format to 
encode in than PCM?
