I am used to two track editing..so That's what I was looking for. Our system, the Velocity is mostly real time..no rendering..and automatically drops in a default dissolve (which length can be modified) as we bring in the next clip in on the b layer (or vice versa) as the timeline is built does PP do anything like that or do we HAVE to put the video on ONE track and add every effect one by one?

I use ppro 2, which can dissolve between 2 clips like any other nle, but the clips are on the same track and the dissolve, or other transition, is placed on the same track with them, and overlapping the end/start of the clips. I've used the kind of set up you describe in speed razor, and getting used to the way this is displayed in ppro is not difficult. You can vary the dissolve by adjusting the transition on the time line, make it happen sooner, later, make the midpoint later in the trans, lengthening it, making the dissolve in slower/longer and the out come faster, giving a tapir to the shape of your trans, simply by grabbing the end of the trans and dragging it on the timeline Joe Salerno 713-6688650 Industrial Video Services HYPERLINK "http://joe.salerno.com"http://joe.salerno.-com lake00us wrote: > I am considerng using Premiere and wonder about A/B roll editng > > my curent system allow for two tracks with a transition track in > between so when I drop in two clips they set up on two tracks > automatically with dissloves between them > > I find this feraturre very very useful and wonwer if Premeire does this. > > Thank you > > > > > Yahoo!
