If you want to do DivX compatable video on the cheap,
get the free Xvid codec. Xvid is close enough to DivX
that most DVD players with DivX decoding will also
playback Xvid, and a computer with the Xvid codec
(but not DivX) will play almost all DivX encoded
video.

The easiest and most conflict free way to ensure
a Windows PC can playback almost any video is to get
the Combined Community Codec Project installer.
(Yes, that's CCCP, comrade! ;-)
