The Matrox card is a pci card it has nothing to do with the signal that
your monitor sees' That's the job of the agp card. As said before it
accelerates the number crunching of the video (altering colour, effects,
ect.) before it sends the results to the monitor via the agp graphics
video card. So don't throw it out yet as I suspect that it is your agp
video card that is not working. As yourself said "we get nothing on the
screen at all. tried a different monitor- same problem." If possible try
either card separately in another computer yes I know this will take
time. But it will answer the question. Is my matrox RT100 card broken.
