Drive C: for Windows and applications. Drive D: for Windows' swap file and storing stuff like still images, audio clips, software installers and other infrequently used things. Any download you've had to pay for to get should be backed up to DVD-R along with any serial numbers or license numbers or key files. Drive E: for AP's scratch disk. (Also for Photoshop's scratch disk.) How much space do they typically use for their temp/scratch data? Drive F: Great big single drive or RAID, preferably RAID 1 mirror or RAID 5 stripe with parity for protection in case of drive failure, for captured or imported video and output of edited/rendered video. May also use for building projects for DVD or Blu-Ray. Those could also be output to D: or E: if they're big enough since you likely won't be using AP or PS while working on a DVD or Blu-Ray project. The idea behind such divisions is to give exclusive or near exclusive access to drives for the things that have the most frequent drive access, Windows' swap file and apps like AP that create HUGE amounts of temporary data. Audio editing software like Audition also creates large temporary files when you do things like apply an effect to an entire audio track for a long video. Ie, you raise the volume 5db then decide it only needs 3db. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
