Edward, from what I see, I didn't notice, nor have some equipment I tested on, but just for giggle, I decided to use dvcpro50 what IF there IS a slight degradation, better to safe than sorry perspective. :)
What works for me doesn't necessarily means it would work for others, you might have other codec on the computer that might degrade the quality, or there might be some minor settings that would make a differences, or you might have recompress option checked while exporting... who knows. For me, I didn't see it on my tests, yet to be safe, I choose to work with dvcpro50 because of the file size and 'what if' there IS a degradation it would be minimal. :) Johnny Wu Producer/Director/Editor www.mdifilm.com www.rapturethemovie.com www.thegummingzombie.com Administrator Cleveland IndieClub www.indieclub.com www.clevelandindieclub.com -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Edward Martin III Sent: Wednesday, October 22, 2008 11:37 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [AP] DV-AVI vs. uncompressed AVI Johnny writes "I would suggest doing some testing to see how it looks on screen, and comparing the uncompressed avi to the dvcpro50 ones. (Btw, I use MainConcept's DVCpro codecs)." Hm, so there IS a degradation, but mostly you're picking the path of least-degradation? (that is to say, imperceptible) Cheers, Edward ------------------------------------ Yahoo! Groups Links ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
