I don't know what purpose mcdb files serve but they exist in folders named for disk drives, under Media Cache. This Media Cache folder exists in several places on my computer, possibly because I kept playing around with location settings. I find them under (User name) > AppData > Roaming > Adobe > Common, and again on D: > Media Cache Files > Media Cache. This is confusing to me because I also have a D: > Media Cache Files > Media Cache Files folder. The folders under Media Cache Files contain MACC folders named according to projects.
Note Media Cache and Media Cache Files are two different coexisting folders.
