ok, but as I said before, when I import a mpg file, cs3 doesn't recognize the
file as a "video-and-audio-film". the icon that appears beside the name of the
file is a "pelicula film", what means that the program recognized that file as
a "video-film" only...

because this I have to extract the audio of the archives previosly.

I never extract the audio from an mpg, and it sounds quite unnecessary to
me.

Your first part is right - CS3 does not access the camera directly through
an I/O port, so yes, you have to download the files from the camera using
the included software (or, in my case at least, I can use Windows Explorer
and drag the files down).

Once the mpg files are in a directory CS should be able to import them. Once
imported you should see "indexing" activity status in the lower-right,
followed by "conforming" activity status. They both take awhile, and the
audio won't play in a preview until the conforming is done.. After those are
done you should be able to preview both audio and video by dragging an mpg
file into either the Source monitor or a sequence, hit the space bar, and
they should play, audio included. Actually you may be able to preview it in
the Program Panel also (I have CS4 now, and testing in CS4 it works).

Hoping this helps...

It did not work for me. I tried importing the video from the sony dcr sr42,
premiere cs3 would not recognize the camera. I downloaded the file with the
sofware inculded with the camera, premiere was able to import the video but
no audio was included. I do not know what I did wrong and that has been my
problem.

Thanks,
