What all do you have running on your computer? Any instant messengers? What
security, anti-virus or anti-malware?
Norton and Symantec software are notorious for being memory and CPU hogs.
If you have a spare drive to install, you could install a second copy of
Windows followed by your video software and nothing else, for dual booting.
This also gives you a built in backup system to boot to in case the primary
Windows install has problems or gets infested with malware.
Ideally your video editing system should be used for ONLY video editing and not
connected to the internet so it won't need security software using resources.
