Barry writes "nothing so sophisticated I'm afraid, each 1920x1080
frame contains the 2 pictures, side by side, so editing is quite
straight forward. placing titles is tricky as you have to place the
title twice, once over the left picture and once over the right, then
in 3D they stand out very clear."

Really...?!

So that means each frame is simply 960x1080 (Mmmm, now in
"tall-screen"!)? Are the pixels stretched?

When I've made my own 3D stuff, I've placed images next to each other,
but this has not been for DVD or Blu-Ray delivery, so I could make
weird frames sizes, such as 1440x480, which results in two 720x480
images next to each other.

I was a devil, though, and told people they had to watch the movie
cross-eyed or wall-eyed. I'm not gonna send people glasses! 8)

If I were going to shoot something in 3D NOW, I would either use
animation software (which I'm unfamiliar with, but [eh] it's a thing
to learn, I guess), or two actual cameras with their controls ganged
and operated by a single computer.

Of course, now, 3D gear's probably out there ready to rent.

Cheers,

Edward
