Question: Wouldn't this be a problem with ANY audio recorder? After all, the
rate at which audio is recorder and the rate at which video is recorded is
determined by the internal clocks of the recording device. It would be
almost impossible for two such devices to have exactly the same clock rate,
so aren't we actually talking about "close enough" rates? Meaning that with
5-minute clips one might not notice the difference in speeds, but recording
an 80-minute event might experience significant drift?

(I don't have a recorder so I was just wondering)

The problem with the Zoom is that the device
itself doesn't stay in sync. It loses one frame
once every 5 minutes or so. So you can sync it
with video but after 5 minutes it will be out of
sync by one frame. Many won't notice it. In fact
the Zoom was very popular in many movie maker
forums till someone noticed the sync problem (was
that me?) and others started to notice it as
well. But apparently the problem was solved with
a recent firmware update. I should try that
update and do some testing but it's hard to find the time.
