I've seen clocks with 9V back-ups, but those seem to have disappeared 
from the market. They would last a long time, even during an extended 
power outage. Wouldn't keep the display on, but would keep the clock on 
time so you didn't have to reset when the power did return.

Don't see those anymore. Bummer. UPS to the rescue.
