Ok David,

second time - same here.
In CS5 (which by the way has not been around for ten years) you should
not have to convert the file
and use the VOB file as is which I have done many times without a problem.
It does not happen often but if I have problems I can't figure out I
uninstall and reinstall Premiere
which has helped a few times but then you wrote at the beginning the
files do also not play in FC -
is that correct?
As Lee wrote, simply renaming a VOB file to .mpg does not always work. I
did that in older versions
of Premiere and often got pixelation but at least the files played.

I would also try a different DVD to check whether you get the same
problem there.

Please understand that it is difficult to suggest something not being at
the computer.

Good luck

Uwe
