Just an update -
I tried a new project but still cannot import the mov files. Uwe, you asked how I am getting them from the camera. This is a very simple camera which records to micro SD card. There is no transfer software like with a Sony HD camera or other cameras. So I just copy the files from the card.
Still, if I can open them in Premiere 5.5 I should be able to open them in 6. I guess I will have to work in 5.5 a little longer. Well CS6 is the last version I will buy if Adobe persists in subscription-only versions, so this will drag out the anticipation of my "new" CS6 upgrade.

Hi,
It's a Polaroid action cam... I'm at my boring day job so can't look up the model number. Yes, I am importing through the media browser. I also tried drag-and-drop.
I can work on the files in Premiere 5.5 if I have to, but darn, this is the first project I'm attempting with my upgrade.
This was a project I started in Premiere 5.5 and opened in version 6. Maybe I will try a new project in CS6 and see if that helps.
Thanks for the ideas,
Alexandra

Alexandra,
I guess it will not help you much if I tell you that Premiere 6 should accept those files.
Which action cam are you using and how do you get the files to your computer?

Hi,
Since the list is slow, I thought I'd pipe up with a problem.
I have an HD "action cam" that records to .mov format. I want to make biking videos for winter training.
Premiere 5.5 imported these files well enough (they were jumpy during preview but that was OK), but I just upgraded to CS6. When I try to import the files, Premiere 6 says that it cannot import them because "there are no valid video and audio streams." I am suspecting some "mux" issue but I'm not sure what to do about it. Even Windoze Movie Maker can import and play the files.
Any ideas? Thanks!
Alexandra
