Hi,
Yes, Uwe, I did have all patches/updates for Premiere.
I took Rick's suggestion:

I took Rick's suggestion:
>See
if they open with Mpeg Streamclip. If they do, then convert them to
another codec. Every edit system, >mac and PC should have this software
on it.
I converted to the default mov codec (Apple Motion A, I believe - not at my computer now) and this worked. I can open the .mov files in Premiere CS6.
Thank you so much for the suggestion, Rick!
As for the CC debate - at my regular job we use the Adobe Technical Communication Suite. For the next version, Adobe also sent out a survey and users begged them to allow purchases as well as subscriptions. And that is what they have announced will happen! No forced subscription, for now, anyway.
As long as there's a forced subscription for the Creative Suite, I will not buy. My little part-time company of one employee, me, has no need for "group workflows," and like Uwe, there are some months I do not need the software and I sure cannot pay such a steep monthly fee. I cannot pay a monthly fee for anything.
Sony Vegas, anyone?
